Calder Capital has been retained to assist our client (“Company”), a Michigan-based, midsized Precision Machined Component Manufacturer, with its strategy to acquire similar businesses in the space. The Company is a manufacturer and designer of small-to-midsized components for aerospace, medical and military applications, and features a highly technical and proficient engineering division.
Acquisition Criteria:
Target: Manufacturer of Precision Machined Components
Geography: West Michigan, Northern Indiana, Central Michigan
Revenue: Up to $10,000,000
Deal Structure: The Acquirer is flexible regarding deal structure; they are open to the seller keeping a minority share in the business, however the preference is a 100% buyout.
Management Situations: The Acquirer is flexible in terms of the management situation and whether the current management team would like to stay on post-close.
Manufacturing Characteristics: The Acquirer would prefer targets currently involved in prototyping, low-to-medium volume production runs, and featuring 5-axis or similar machining capabilities.

Founded nearly 20-years ago, the Company has been a standout player in the manufacturing and design of combustion engine components. The Company is a premier manufacturer and designer of industrial components, including aircraft engine components, turbochargers, and fuel injectors, along with performance automotive parts.
The Company has combined a strong service offering and broad capabilities with an experienced management team and deep industry knowledge to become one of the leaders within the component manufacturing space. The Company additionally provides engine component R&D services for several US military branches including the Army, Air Force Research Laboratory, NAVAIR and DARPA.
The Company is now looking to leverage its infrastructure and expertise in the industry to grow and scale via synergistic acquisitions. It is looking for opportunities with businesses that (a) feature similar machining and manufacturing capabilities, (b) produce small-to-medium sized components for aerospace, industrial, medical, automotive, and other similar industries, and (d) feature low-to-medium volume production run capabilities.
