Grand Rapids, MI – December 6, 2024 – Calder Capital, a leader in mergers and acquisitions advisory services, celebrated a year of growth and gratitude by donating $30,000 to three local charities during its annual Calder Deal Ball. Held at The Rutledge in Grand Rapids, the event brought together 150 attendees, including clients, business associates, and staff, to celebrate a remarkable year of achievements while giving back to the community.
The donations, totaling $10,000 each, were made to Michele’s Rescue, King’s Table Ministries, and Home Repair Services of Kent County, three organizations with deep ties to Calder Capital’s team and mission.
“While we all work hard, most of us have the good fortune of having a solid support network. It’s important to help those that are less fortunate and fall on hard times,” said Max Friar, Managing Partner. “These organizations do amazing work to make the community a better place, and we’re proud to honor and support them.”
Home Repair Services of Kent County helps homeowners experience the safety and dignity of a secure home. By providing low-cost repairs and educational resources, HRS empowers families to retain the generational wealth that homeownership brings. Many of us at Calder have worked alongside HRS over the years, from building access ramps to repairing decks and cabinets. Scott Nicholson, who served on the HRS board for six years, introduced us to their incredible mission.

King’s Table Ministries is changing lives for our neighbors right here in West Michigan. Their organization provides meaningful programs for individuals with special needs. Garrett Monroe, Sell-Side Director at Calder Capital, has volunteered extensively with King’s Table, creating a strong connection between the organization and the company.

Michele’s Rescue is a 100% volunteer-based organization dedicated to saving and rehoming animals in need. Hannelore Jones, Director of Continuous Improvement, serves on their coordinator team, and both she and Associate, Greg Weess, have rescued dogs through the organization.

During dinner, representatives from each charity shared their missions and stories, offering attendees a firsthand look at the meaningful work being done to improve lives in the community.
The Calder Deal Ball was more than a celebration of Calder Capital’s achievements in 2024-it was a testament to the company’s commitment to fostering strong community ties and supporting causes that resonate with their team and clients.
