Current Role: Dan serves as an M&A Advisor at Calder Capital. In this role, he works closely with business owners and buyers, guiding them through the complex process of selling or acquiring companies. Dan supports his clients through valuation, marketing, negotiation, and closing, helping ensure a smooth and successful transaction from start to finish.
Background: Dan brings over two decades of leadership, operational, and entrepreneurial experience to Calder. He spent 18 years at Gordon Food Service, where he held several leadership roles and led award-winning leadership development initiatives. After his corporate tenure, Dan operated his own small business for four years, gaining valuable experience as an entrepreneur. He holds an MBA from Aquinas College and has a strong foundation in team development, business operations, and client service.
Awards and Recognition: While at Gordon Food Service, Dan and his team were honored with multiple LEAD Awards from HR.com, recognizing excellence in leadership development. These include the LEAD Award – Best Experienced/Senior Leaders Program (2017) and the LEAD Award – Innovation in Deployment of Leadership Programs (2017).
These awards were presented by HR.com, the world’s largest global social networking and resource site for HR professionals, through their annual LEAD (Leadership Excellence and Development) Awards program.
Hobbies: Dan currently serves as President of Rockford Youth Football, a nonprofit organization offering flag and tackle football programs for grades K–6. He also actively coaches youth football and travel basketball. In his free time, Dan enjoys CrossFit, Taekwondo training, traveling, boating, and camping with his family. Earlier in life, he competed in Taekwondo tournaments nationally and internationally, representing the U.S. in Brazil (2008) and Australia (2010).
