Calder Capital, a nationwide mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, is excited to welcome Andy Garza as our newest Buy-Side Associate.

Introducing Andy:
Andy is originally from Chicago, IL, and studied Finance at Grand Valley State University (GVSU). He previously gained valuable experience as a Finance Intern at Fifth Wheel Freight, where he strengthened his analytical and financial skills in a fast-paced environment. Andy has also competed in multiple stock pitch competitions through GVSU, as well as a syndication pitch competition, and the ACG Cup, further sharpening his investment and valuation expertise.
When asked what led him to join Calder Capital, Andy reflected on a pivotal experience meeting Calder’s founder, Max Friar, at a Grand Valley State University Real Estate Club meeting. “I had researched Calder and admired its reputation, but hearing Max’s story in person really sealed it for me. After a great conversation, I knew I wanted to be a part of this team. Calder’s focus on persistence and its strong track record in small to mid-market M&A made it the perfect place to start my career.”
Andy is eager to get started, sharing, “I’m most looking forward to being the catalyst to my clients’ dreams of owning a small business. My goal is to understand their vision and do everything I can to help make it a reality.”
Motivated by building a great life for both his family and his clients’ families, Andy brings dedication and persistence to his work. Outside of the office, he enjoys attending metal concerts, coaching hockey and rowing, and volunteering for kids and adults with autism at a location called Living & Learning Enrichment Center in Northville, MI, where he has contributed over 3,000 volunteer hours.
In his new role as Buy-Side Associate, Andy will play a crucial role in assisting buyers throughout their acquisition journey. He will conduct market research, refine acquisition criteria, and educate buyers on best practices, ensuring a smooth and effective process. Additionally, he will support Calder’s Buy-Side team in identifying, evaluating, and negotiating acquisition opportunities.
“Andy’s persistence, passion for client success, and strong financial acumen have already made a great impression on our team,” said Max Friar, Managing Partner of Calder Capital. “His drive to support clients in achieving their business ownership goals is exactly the kind of energy we value at Calder, and I look forward to seeing his continued growth and contributions.”
We’re excited to have Andy on the Calder Capital team and look forward to the energy and positivity he’ll bring to the team. To learn more about Andy’s professional journey, connect with him on LinkedIn.
