Introducing Lucas:
Originally from Petoskey, Michigan, Lucas brings a strong entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on transaction experience shaped by both professional investing roles and family-owned businesses. He previously worked as a Junior Analyst at Blackford Capital and as Director of Commercial Development at Vision Real Estate Investment. In addition to his institutional experience, Lucas has spent years owning and operating multiple businesses alongside his father, including the development and operation of multiple high-end gas stations. He holds dual degrees in Finance and Economics from Grand Valley State University.
When asked what led him to join Calder Capital, Lucas pointed to the firm’s people-first culture and passion for doing deals the right way. Lucas stated, “In my many conversations with Garrett about joining Calder, what ultimately closed the deal was the passion and energy of the team and how that translated into the way Calder does deals. It was clear that everyone at Calder values relationships and truly enjoys working together.”
Lucas is eager to get started, sharing, “Having been through the business sale and acquisition process myself, I am really looking forward to helping others through it. I know firsthand how complex and impactful the process can be, and I am excited to be able to support those who are making that jump.”
Driven by a passion for business, personal growth, and new opportunities, Lucas thrives on challenges that push him to learn and improve. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing and boating in the spring and summer, skiing in the winter, and hunting in the fall. He and his wife, Jessica, also help lead the college ministry at their church, The Local Church, and recently built a new home together in East Grand Rapids. Lucas holds an active Michigan real estate license.
In his new role as Sell-Side Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor, Lucas will leverage his firsthand transaction experience to support Calder Capital Sell-Side clients throughout the M&A process. Lucas will be responsible for assisting clients in qualifying and vetting potential buyers, conducting due diligence, structuring deals, and navigating the intricate landscape of M&A transactions.
