Calder Capital, a nationwide mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, is excited to welcome Piper O’Rourke as our newest Sell-Side Analyst.
Introducing Piper:
Originally from Frankenmuth, Michigan, Piper has experience in finance and accounting, along with early professional experience spanning both retail and public accounting. She previously worked as an Audit and Assurance Intern at BDO USA, prior to her one-year internship at Calder Capital, where she gained exposure to financial analysis and reporting. Piper holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Grand Valley State University, where she built an academic base to support her career in mergers and acquisitions.
When asked what led her to join Calder Capital, Piper noted, “I really liked the culture at Calder and the type of work being done. The office has a close-knit feel, but the work itself is proactive and independent while still being very team‑oriented. That balance, along with the trust given to take ownership of work, stood out to me.”
Piper is eager to get started, adding, “I’m looking forward to continuing to learn through real-deal work, and honestly, being part of the day-to-day office environment, inside jokes, and seeing how everyone handles the inevitable chaos that comes with deals.”
When asked about what motivates her, Piper said, “staying consistent, improving a little each day, and working toward long-term goals, especially the idea of financial independence and retiring early.” Outside of work, she enjoys baking and reading, and values time spent relaxing, resetting, and unplugging. She also appreciates being part of a team that can balance strong performance with a sense of humor and camaraderie.
In her new role as Sell-Side Analyst, Piper will support Calder’s Sell-Side deal team. She will perform business valuations, prepare offering materials, conduct market research, and facilitate communications between clients and prospective buyers. Her contributions will be key in helping business owners capture maximum attention from qualified buyers and achieve successful exits.
