Name: AJ Wood

Current Role: In his new role as a Buy-Side M&A Advisor, AJ will take charge of deals from the moment a client is ready to move forward with a warm lead through closing. He’ll lead the team, facilitate introductions, oversee valuations, guide deal structure, negotiate for clients, secure financing, manage due diligence, and coordinate the closing process to ensure a smooth transaction.  

Background: Originally from Southwest Michigan, AJ Wood is a professional with years of experience in finance and technology. He earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from Michigan State University and has held roles spanning asset management, higher education, and technology‑focused organizations. AJ’s professional experience includes serving as a Principal at Ocean Investment Group as well as multiple leadership roles at BS&A Software, including Implementation Consultant, Project Manager, and Senior Technical Program Manager. Additionally, AJ was a Graduate Research Fellow at Michigan State University.   

Hobbies: Outside of work, AJ enjoys traveling, taking on house projects, reading, and spending time with friends and family. He volunteers with Michigan State University to help prepare incoming MBA students. He is also involved with Bugles Across America. AJ spent three years in the MSU Marching Band, where he marched in the Rose Parade. Later, he joined the university’s Co‑Ed Cheer Team. He enjoys spending time at Higgins Lake and has previously served on the Housing Commission of East Lansing. AJ is also a proud dog owner of two dogs.
