Recently, the Calder Capital team joined Home Repair Services of Kent County for RampFest #20, volunteering to help a vulnerable Grand Rapids homeowner gain safer, more accessible entry into her home.
The Home Repair Services project brought the team to Grand Rapids’ northwest side, where they worked on a home originally built in 1938. The homeowner had been relying on a single section of metal ramp to enter and exit her home. With a steep incline and no protective railings, the existing ramp presented a challenge for her to safely access her home.

In just one day, Calder’s volunteers helped build a ramp that now provides the homeowner with a safer way to move in and out of her home. Our team was happy to spend a day volunteering, in order to make a long-term difference for a neighbor in need.
