Calder Capital, a nationwide mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, is excited to welcome Matthew Wynes as our newest Sell-Side Analyst.

Introducing Matt:
Originally from Sturgis, Michigan, Matt brings a strong foundation in finance and marketing, paired with hands-on experience supporting organizations at both the community and financial institution levels. He previously worked at St. Joseph County United Way as a marketing assistant and intern, where he contributed to community-focused initiatives. Matt also gained experience in the Trust Department at Century Bank and Trust during a summer internship. Most recently, he spent a year and a half interning with Calder Capital’s sell-side team, building a deep familiarity with the firm’s processes and client-first approach. Matt graduated Summa Cum Laude from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing.
When asked what led him to join Calder Capital, Matt said, “Being from a smaller town, I saw firsthand how much locally owned businesses matter to their communities. Calder’s focus on the lower middle market resonated with me because it provides the opportunity to work directly with business owners, often during one of the most significant moments of their life.”
Matt is eager to continue building on his experience, adding, “I’m excited to take on bigger, more complex transactions and make an even greater impact for our clients. I am also thrilled to work with a team that is not only incredibly skilled but also inspiring and fun to work with every day.
Matt shared his motivations stating, “I’m motivated by tackling high-impact opportunities where each decision carries weight and there are no simple solutions.”
Outside of work, Matt enjoys staying active through tennis, golf, and running; he recently participated in a Ragnar relay race with fellow Calder team members. He also enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Annika, attending Detroit Tigers games with friends, and returning to his hometown to be with family. Matt remains active in the community as well, volunteering with St. Joseph County United Way through events like their annual Radiothon and local fundraising initiatives.

In his new role as Sell-Side Analyst, Matt will support Calder’s sell-side deal team. He will perform business valuations, prepare offering materials, conduct market research, and facilitate communications between clients and prospective buyers. His contributions will be key in helping business owners capture maximum attention from qualified buyers and achieve successful exits.
“Matt’s progression from intern to full-time team member is a testament to both his work ethic and his commitment to excellence,” said Garrett Monroe, Sell-Side Managing Director at Calder Capital. “He already understands our process and culture inside and out. Matt’s leadership and work ethic, combined with his heart for helping clients, makes him a valuable addition to our Sell-Side team. We couldn’t be any happier to have him be a part of our team.”
We’re excited to have Matt Wynes on the Calder Capital team and look forward to the marketing and analytical strengths he will bring to the team. To learn more about Matt’s professional journey, connect with him on LinkedIn.
