Job Summary
The Marketing and PR Associate supports the execution of Calder Capital’s marketing and PR initiatives through a combination of owned responsibilities and collaborative work. The role owns key functions including social media management, video content optimization and distribution, third-party platform maintenance, and market research, while collaborating with internal teams on strategy development, press releases, media outreach, performance reporting, and marketing campaigns. Working closely with Calder’s marketing team, this position helps ensure consistent brand visibility, accurate external representation, and scalable, data-informed marketing operations.
Schedule: This is a full-time position. After the training period, the position offers a flexible schedule, with the expectation of 40 hours per week.
Location: This role is based at Calder Capital’s headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and requires regular in-office presence. Following training, the position offers a hybrid schedule with up to two work-from-home days per week.
Owned Responsibilities
- Own the optimization, packaging, and distribution of pre-recorded video content across key channels, including social media, YouTube, prospecting campaigns, and podcast repurposing.
- Manage and monitor Calder Capital’s social media presence and Advisor LinkedIn accounts, creating engaging, on-brand content and graphics informed by Calder’s website to grow reach and engagement. Maintain and curate an evergreen content library for advisor use.
- Lead experimentation on emerging and underutilized platforms, including Facebook and Reddit, to evaluate engagement and growth opportunities.
- Research industry trends, competitor activity, audience insights, and evolving SEO trends to inform content strategy, platform optimization, and broader marketing initiatives.
- Maintain and regularly update Calder Capital’s presence across third-party platforms and listings, including Google Business Profiles, Bing Listings, Pitchbook, Preqin, Dakota, and relevant business listing sites, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and SEO alignment.
Collaborative Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of PR and marketing strategies, including press releases, market updates, and website content.
- Support media outreach efforts and assist in maintaining relationships with journalists and industry partners.
- Collaborate on tracking, analyzing, and reporting marketing performance metrics and campaign results to inform future initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in PR, marketing, or communications, including internships or early-career roles.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging to maintain brand consistency across platforms.
- Hands-on experience managing social media platforms, with a strong emphasis on LinkedIn; familiarity with Metricool or like platform preferred.
- Working knowledge of or interest in SEO best practices.
- Basic graphic design and content formatting skills (Canva or similar tools).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently on owned responsibilities while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing organization.
