Transaction Summary
Calder Capital, a nationwide mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of Mosquito Joe of South Central Pennsylvania (“Mosquito Joe”) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania by Victoria Scurto of Annville, Pennsylvania.
The Acquisition Story
Victoria Scurto is a hands-on operator, who has founded and grown a security business while managing its operations, marketing, HR, and sales. She has experience in modernizing systems, stabilizing teams, and improving operational efficiency, resulting in consistent growth and strong financial performance. Scurto engaged Calder Capital’s Buy-Side team as she pursued a new avenue of business ownership, in order to create lasting value for her employees, self, and communities served.
Victoria Scurto’s engagement led to Calder Capital facilitating the acquisition of Mosquito Joe.
Mosquito Joe is a well-established residential and commercial pest control franchisee specializing in mosquito, tick, and flea treatment services. Formerly owned and operated as a family business by Sherry and Jeff Dawson, the franchisee is part of the nationwide Mosquito Joe brand, known for delivering reliable, professional outdoor pest control services backed by standardized training, proven treatment methods, and a strong customer service culture. The business was a strong fit for Tori as she sought a local B2C home services company in Pennsylvania with an established team.
Scurto commented, “What excites me most about this acquisition is that it’s a strong, proven service business located right in my area, serving a real and consistent need in the local community. It’s the kind of model I like—recurring, essential, and not dependent on trends or seasonality in a way that creates instability. I’m especially drawn to the fact that it directly improves quality of life for local customers while operating on a straightforward, repeatable service structure. It also gives me the opportunity to step into an already functioning business and focus on strengthening operations, customer experience, and growth in a market I understand well and care about.”
