The Acquisition Story
The Rapallo Group is a St. Louis-based private investment vehicle focused on acquiring and operating lower middle market businesses. Led by President and Owner Pat Noles, the firm takes a hands-on operational approach and has successfully founded and acquired companies across several industries, ranging from quick-service restaurants to B2B service companies. Under Noles’ leadership, these businesses have experienced meaningful organic growth driven by a strong emphasis on customer service and employee retention. Seeking to expand its portfolio with a well-established regional service provider, The Rapallo Group engaged Calder Capital’s Buy-Side team and ultimately acquired Door Service, Inc.
The Rapallo Group’s engagement led to Calder Capital sourcing and facilitating the acquisition of Door Service, Inc.
Founded by Art and Laquita King, Door Service, Inc. has built a strong reputation across the St. Louis region for installing and maintaining high-quality commercial doors, entrances, and for providing hardware solutions. After Art King’s illness, second generation owners Tim King and Tod King stepped in and grew the business with the help of their brother Mark, along with the broader Door Service team.
Noles shared, “I’m most excited about continuing what’s already been built here: the relationships, the reputation, and the team. Our goal is to take care of the existing customers and employees while steadily growing the business the right way.”

Calder Capital’s Transaction Team and Sale Process
Jakob Simonds of Calder Capital served as the Lead Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor to The Rapallo Group. Serving as Lead Director was Hannah Nabhan of Calder Capital, and the Lead Associate was Dominik Bepristis.
Calder’s Buy-Side team generated 18 off-market seller introductions, leading to 11 client pursuits, two offers on unique businesses, and resulting in the successful acquisition of Door Service. Calder Capital was engaged in mid-June, the Letter of Intent was executed in September, and the deal successfully closed in February.
