Calder Capital, a nationwide mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, is excited to welcome Ken Trupke as our newest Buy-Side M&A Advisor.

Introducing Ken:
Originally from the Milwaukee area and now residing in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area, Ken brings decades of hands-on business leadership and advisory experience to Calder Capital. He began his career in consulting with Price Waterhouse and Arthur Andersen before relocating to Michigan, where he spent 14 years running an injection molding company. Since then, Ken has continued to operate and advise businesses through his work with Clarity Advisors, supporting organizations across various stages of growth. He holds a business degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee.
When asked what led him to join Calder Capital, Ken pointed to both long-standing relationships and timing. Ken stated, “I’ve known Max Friar for 20 years and have thought about M&A advisory work, but the timing was never right. So, when Sam approached me with this opportunity, the timing was perfect for this point in my career.”
Ken is eager to get started, adding, “I’m looking forward to helping buyers find businesses that meet their goals, whether that’s fulfilling a dream to own a business, making a great strategic investment, or adding to their portfolio. I also look forward to helping sellers transition their business to someone who cares as much as they do.”
Motivated by a desire to serve others through his experience, Ken finds fulfillment in helping individuals and organizations succeed both personally and professionally. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his large family. He and his wife have six sons and a daughter, and gatherings often center around food, where Ken enjoys cooking and grilling. He is also an avid reader, with a current preference for biographies and classic literature, and enjoys attending local theater productions, particularly high school musicals each spring. Additionally, Ken is a season ticket holder at Berlin Raceway and enjoys attending Whitecaps and Griffins games with family and friends.
In his new role as a Buy-Side M&A Advisor, Ken will take charge of deals from the moment a client is ready to move forward with a warm lead through closing. He’ll lead the team, facilitate introductions, oversee valuations, guide deal structure, negotiate for clients, secure financing, manage due diligence, and coordinate the closing process to ensure a smooth transaction.
“Ken’s depth of experience as both an operator and advisor make him an exceptional addition to our Buy-Side team,” said Sam Scharich, Calder Capital’s Buy-Side Managing Director. “He brings a unique combination of strategic insight, practical leadership, and a genuine desire to help others succeed. We’re eager to see the impact he’ll have on our clients and our firm.”
We’re excited to have Ken on the Calder Capital team and look forward to the experience and perspective he will bring. To learn more about Ken’s professional journey, connect with him on LinkedIn.
