Recognition Details
Sundquist works with entrepreneurs, executives, family offices, and other buyers at the beginning of their acquisition searches. His role includes conducting market research, refining acquisition criteria, and helping prospective clients understand the process of sourcing, evaluating, and pursuing a business acquisition.
In 2025 alone, his first full year in M&A, Sundquist led 146 substantive meetings with prospective buyers and signed 30 new buy-side clients. His work contributed to Calder’s growth from approximately 35 active buy-side clients at the beginning of 2025 to 75 by year-end.
“Ben takes the time to understand each buyer’s background and what they are trying to accomplish, and he guides them the right way, even if that means telling them we are not the right fit to work together. He has educated hundreds of buyers on the acquisition process and set them up to succeed. In his first two years on the team, he brought on nearly 60 clients, including buyers who have gone on to close more than $35M in acquisition value. He’s sharp, resilient, and works as hard as anyone I know. His work has changed the lives of many of our clients, and of the owners whose businesses they now carry forward,” stated Sam Scharich, Calder Capital’s Buy-Side Managing Director.
Sundquist originated Calder’s relationship with Highline Group, a Colorado-based family office that completed an acquisition in 2025. Other clients he brought to the firm include Inzo Technologies and Founders Home Service Group, both of which subsequently completed acquisitions.
“These exceptional individuals, firms, and transactions have truly distinguished themselves from an outstanding pool of candidates,” stated Roger Aguinaldo, Founder and CEO of The M&A Advisor. “In an ever-evolving and highly competitive M&A landscape, we are proud to recognize the dealmakers, firms, and professionals who demonstrate the highest standards of excellence and continue to shape the future of our industry.”
