Transaction Summary
Calder Capital, a nationwide mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, is enthralled to announce the successful acquisition of ARK Engineering & Technical Services, Inc. and ARK Field Services, LLC of Braintree, Massachusetts, and Winter Haven, Florida, by Michael Sargent of Marblehead, Massachusetts.
The Acquisition Story
Michael Sargent began his career in the U.S. Army Special Forces as a Green Beret, serving nearly a decade as a decorated combat leader. After leaving the military, Michael earned an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and transitioned into corporate leadership roles in wealth management, healthcare, technology, and fintech. He established HarborEdge Holdings to acquire and operate a B2B manufacturing, distribution, or service company. Sargent ultimately engaged Calder Capital’s Buy-Side team to identify, evaluate, and acquire a business he could lead through its next chapter of growth.
Michael Sargent’s engagement led to Calder Capital sourcing and facilitating the acquisition of ARK Engineering & Technical Services, Inc. and ARK Field Services, LLC.
ARK Engineering & Technical Services was founded in 1991 by Robert “Bob” Allen, on his kitchen table, as an electrical engineering firm serving the energy industries. Mr. Allen founded ARK Field Services in 2010 as a company dedicated to installations and field services work based on ARK Engineering’s designs and client requests for installation support.
Headquartered in Braintree, Massachusetts (ARK Engineering) and Winter Haven, Florida (ARK Field Services), these companies specialize in electrical interference analysis, AC mitigation design and installation, corrosion control, and cathodic protection services for clients in the energy, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors. ARK is supported by a full management team overseeing construction, operations, engineering, and finance, with over 40 full-time employees.
ARK Engineering & Technical Services and ARK Field Services closely matched Michael’s acquisition criteria. The Company operated in his preferred service industry, and geographic market, and had a skilled tenured team.
“After having started these companies and watching them grow and become industry leaders in electrical interference analysis, corrosion control, and installation services over 35 years, it was time to slow down, pass the torch, and enjoy additional time with family and friends, travel, some downtime, and investigate other hobbies,” Bob reflected. “I look forward to watching the company move into the next chapter of growth and expand those client relationships we have developed over the many years.”

Calder Capital’s Transaction Team and Sale Process
Shane Kissack of Calder Capital served as the Lead Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor to Michael Sargent. Serving as Lead Director was Parker Schaap of Calder Capital, and Lead Associate was Francisco Pizzo.
Calder’s Buy-Side team generated 14 off-market seller introductions, leading to eight client pursuits, and one offer on this unique business, resulting in the successful acquisition of ARK Engineering and Field Services.
“I enjoyed working with Shane and Francisco and their team through this sale process,” Bob commented. “I will be referring them to people who are considering Buy-side representation. I recall the initial cold call I received from Francisco and the conversation I had with him about my company and the industries we serviced. He was excited about the opportunity to discuss my company with potential Buy-side clients and they found a match!”
Shane remarked, “Francesco deserves recognition for identifying multiple strong and legitimate opportunities that Michael was excited to evaluate, including ARK Engineering & Technical Services and ARK Field Services. This was a complex transaction, and Michael’s persistence, professionalism, and long-term operating mindset were instrumental in getting it across the finish line.”
Sam Scharich, Calder’s Buy-Side Managing Director, remarked, “Michael is a tremendous fit to lead ARK Engineering & Technical Services and ARK Field Services, a specialized firm focused on corrosion mitigation, cathodic protection, and engineering services. I commend our team members Shane Kissack, Parker Schaap, and Francesco Pizzo for guiding the acquisition process with excellence. We are excited to see Michael build on ARK’s strong reputation and continue serving clients across the United States and Internationally.”
Calder Capital served as the Exclusive Buy-Side Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor to Michael Sargent. Michael Sargent was represented by SMB as legal counsel and EHTC as CPA advisor.
